Does the GOP really want to go down this road?

So, the GOP thinks they've found a scandal that will prove to everyone, once and for all, that President Obama is the shady, backroom Chicago politician who keeps an enemies list and uses the power of the government to make life miserable for his political opponents.

I'm not going to rehash the details of all that right now (other than to say, sure, this is about as scandalous as Benghazi, Solyndra, Fast and Furious, and every other Obama "scandal" the GOP has gone on about), but only to say... really, you guys want to play this game?

You guys want the American public to know that some conservative groups were trying to abuse tax laws in order to shield the names of the people who were bankrolling them?

You guys want the American public to know that the IRS came across your applications and decided to scrutinize whether or not your shady organizations were actually "social welfare organizations," rather than the political outfits that they actually were?

You guys want the American public to know that you really, really, really don't want them to know who exactly is supporting your organization?  Seriously, you want to play this game?

I'll be glad to inform people of what exactly it is that you're complaining about.  The real scandal here isn't that the IRS scrutinized your bogus "social welfare" 501(c)4 applications.

No, the real scandal is that even after all that scrutiny, the IRS came to the conclusion that Crossroads GPS and all the Tea Party groups they pulled out of the pile weren't political outfits.  That's incompetence.
